Jockey Bryan McNeil Injured in Last Race on Saturday
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (July 19, 2008) – Jockey Bryan McNeil was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center for further examination following an incident in the 11th and final race at Lone Star Park on Saturday. McNeil jumped from his mount Mr. Smee when the five-year-old gelding starting running erratically in the backstretch during the 11th race.
McNeil, who was conscious and alert after the fall, suffered an apparent injury to his left wrist when he hit the turf.
Lone Star Park, located in Grand Prairie, Texas, will run its 65-day Spring Thoroughbred Season from April 10 through July 27, 2008 with live racing every Thursday through Sunday.
