Swingin Daddyo Breaks Maiden and Track Record as Top Qualifier in Dash for Cash Futurity Trials

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009) –  Debra Gotovac’s Swingin Daddyo, trained by Brad Bolen and ridden by Cody Wainscott, broke his maiden while setting a track record of 19.452 seconds with a speed index of 105 for the 400-yard distance as the top qualifier in the trials for the Grade 1, $494,650 Dash for Cash Futurity over a fast track on Saturday night at Lone Star Park.  The previous record of 19.480 seconds was set by Eyesa Special on Nov. 25, 2000. 

The Dash for Cash Futurity will be run on Saturday, Oct. 24.

Trainer Eddie Willis and jockey Jimmy Brooks were the only multiple qualifiers.  They combined to qualify three, Streakin Down (2^nd – 19.537 seconds), Sweetest Trick (5^th – 19.629 seconds) and the final qualifier Happy Trick (10^th – 19.689 seconds).

Boondock Saint (19.688, Larry Payne, Guillermo Valdivia);

Happy Trick (19.689, Jimmy Brooks, Eddie Willis)

Zoomin With Ease (19.690 seconds) missed qualifying by one-thousandth (.001) of a second.
