Two Nights of Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks on July 3 - 4
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (March 18, 2010) – The annual Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration will feature two special nights of spectacular fireworks on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4 following the live races, which begin at 5 p.m. on both days. Each 20-minute show will be choreographed to a rousing patriotic soundtrack provided by Lone Star 92.5 KZPS radio (92.5 FM) on Saturday, July 3, and 99.5 The Wolf KPLX radio (99.5 FM) on Sunday, July 4.
On Saturday, July 3, one lucky customer will drive away in a brand new 2010 Chevy Silverado truck. Customers can receive an entry form at the admission gates for the contest on each race day (Thursday through Sunday) from Thursday, June 17 through Saturday, July 3. Ten finalists will be given a key to try to open the door and win the truck. Entries will be available at the Post Time Pavilion admission booths from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and at the Grandstand admission booths during live racing hours. Completed entry forms must be placed in one of the designated contest bins. All entries must be received before the official entry deadline of 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 3. There is a limit of one entry per person per live racing day.

On July 4, Lone Star Park will be giving away a trip for two (2) to the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona on Nov. 15. Customers will receive an entry form at the admissions gate to enter the contest. All completed entries must be placed in the designated contest bins by 7 p.m. One winner will be drawn from all the entries received.

In addition to the fireworks and racing there will be plenty of additional entertainment for the whole family such as pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors and much more. General Admission is just $5 for adults, $3 for children ages 4-12, with children three and under admitted free.
Lone Star Park’s 60-day 2010 Spring Thoroughbred Season will run four days a week every Thursday and Friday at 6:35 p.m. (except Thursday, June 3 when there will be no live racing), and Saturday and Sunday at 1:35 p.m. starting on April 8. The Lone Star Million Day program on Memorial Day will start at 1:35 p.m. and special twilight programs with post-race holiday fireworks on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4 (Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration) will start at 5 p.m. Lone Star Park’s 29-day, 2010 Fall Meeting of Champions for American Quarter Horses will be held from Sept. 17 to Nov. 13.
