Breaking Previous Record of 17.60

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, Nov. 22, 2008)   Jose Luis Granados’ Cutrock, trained by Eddie Willis, set a new track record of 17.315 seconds and earned a Speed Index of 107 on the way to winning the 4th Running of the 350-yard, $60,900 Lone Star Park Paint & Appaloosa Futurity, for eligible two-year-old Paints and Appaloosas, over a muddy track on Saturday at Lone Star Park

Cutrock broke the previous track record of 17.60 seconds set by Got Country Grip on Oct. 14, 2005.

Ridden by Roy Brooks, Cutrock dueled with San Mateo Chick early, took the lead by a length, then had to hold off the late run of that challenger to win by ¾ length.  It was only another neck back to Paint Me a Bono in third.

With the victory, the sorrel son of Judys Lineage improved his career record to five wins and a second in six starts and added the winner’s share of $24,360 to increase his lifetime earnings to $70,446.

Cutrock paid $3.40, $3.20, $2.10, San Mateo Chick returned $5.60, $2.80, and Paint Me a Bono paid $3.20 for show.  Sayonara, O J Okey, Ooh Shez Special, Hiclass Flash, and Judys Rocket to Cash completed the order of finish.  A Real Surprise and Billy Parson Md were scratched.
