Dash for Cash Futurity Winner Tempting Dash Overcomes Bad Start to Post Fastest Time in Texas Classic Futurity Trials

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009) –  Dash for Cash Futurity winner Tempting Dash, owned by Jose Ramiro Villarreal and trained by Eusevio Huitron, was the fastest qualifier with a 400-yard time of 19.494 seconds and a speed index of 104 in the nine trials for the Grade 1, $1.1 million Texas Classic Futurity over a fast track on Saturday night at Lone Star Park. 

Ridden by Julian Cantu, the 2-year-old son of First Down Dash, reared up in the gate then stumbled and was bumped at the start before overtaking his eight rivals to win by 3 ¼ lengths, the largest winning margin of the night, in the seventh trial.

The 2009 Texas Classic Futurity will be run at Lone Star Park on Saturday, Nov. 28, closing night of the Fall Meeting of Champions.

Fast Chick Beduino finished 11^th and missed qualifying by 0.005 of a second with a time of 19.785 seconds.
