Grand Prairie, Texas (Sunday, May 26, 2013) – Trainer Justin R. Evans won his 1,000th career race in the North American Standings, according Equibase Company, today at Lone Star Park. Justin was sitting on 998 wins going into today.He had horses entered in five races at Lone Star Park (races 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7) today and another five entered at Ruidoso Downs in Ruidoso, NM. He won the first race at Ruidoso Downs today giving him victory 999. It wasn’t until the fifth race here at Lone Star when Celestic Night, ridden by Gerardo Mora, rallied on the rail to prevail by a neck over the favorites (a coupled entry of Anthony and Bold Wolf). Celestic Night paid $14.20, $5.00 and $5.20. Congratulations on the milestone win, Justin!
Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Global Gaming Solutions LLC, offers a 50-day 2013 Spring Thoroughbred Season which opens Thursday, April 11 and concludes on Saturday, July 6. Live racing will be held four days a week, Thursday and Friday at 6:35 p.m. (except Thursday, May 30 when there will be no live racing), and Saturday and Sunday at 1:35 p.m. (except Sunday, June 23 and Sunday, June 30.) The racing program on Memorial Day, May 27, will start at 1:35 p.m. Special twilight programs will be held at 5 p.m. on both Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4 (Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration). The track’s 26-day, 2013 Fall Meeting of Champions for American Quarter Horses will be held from Sept. 13 to Nov. 9.
