Over 90,000 Strong Expected For Final 7 Days Of Live Thoroughbred Racing Season

Grand Prairie, Texas (Thursday, June 27, 2013) – With only seven days of live racing remaining in our 17th Spring Thoroughbred Racing Season, you will be amazed at how many fun activities we have managed to schedule into them. We have something for everyone including Dollar Day, Free Jockeys & Java Morning Workout Program, Fan Appreciation Day, Concerts, Giveaways and Fireworks, not to mention four great stakes races.

So, if you still haven’t made it out to the races this season, there is still time to make those plans and come have some fun, because this is your last opportunity to see the Thoroughbreds race until next spring. Plus, it’s all free with your $5 General Admission or ($1 on Dollar Day). And it’s always free general parking!

Fireworks, Photo Finishes & Fun!

Since 1997, over 500,000 customers have attended our 17th annual Lone Stars and Stripes Fireworks Celebration, in conjunction with the City of Grand Prairie. And, to confirm what those 500,000 customers already know, just this week our show was named one of the Top 5 fireworks shows in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex by The Dallas Morning News. Why?

“Our back-to-back shows are 20-minutes each night following the horse races. Not many fireworks shows in the Metroplex are committed to a 20-minute show. Plus, over 3,000 shells and barrage aerial effects are fired right in front of our customers from inside the racetrack infield located just under 200 yards away. This proximity to the customer gives the impression that the fireworks are exploded right at you and really brings a 3-D visual experience of the show right before your eyes,” said G.W. Hail, Vice President and Assistant General Manager.

“Also, due to the sensitivity of the horses stabled nearby, we limit our shells to 4” and approximately a 600’ ceiling which eliminates the loud cannons and salutes you might hear elsewhere. But this element only adds to the visual stimulation of the show. We basically have an explosion every few seconds compared to the higher, longer-fuse explosions.”

“And, finally our shows have specially created soundtracks by radio stations KISS-FM on Wednesday night and 99.5 The Wolf on Thursday night. These soundtracks are not only choreographed to the explosions above but we bring in additional speaker stacks along our track apron directly in front of our customers to truly create a surround-sound environment unmatched in the DFW Metroplex. It is literally "racing that rocks you!"” added Hail.

So bring your coolers, chairs, blankets and tents (no glass or alcohol please) settle in and prepare to be wowed! If you haven’t experienced a Lone Stars and Stripes Fireworks Show at Lone Star Park, what are you waiting for?
