Introducing the First Bud Light Pura Musica Concert Series for Fall Season!

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013) – Lone Star Park’s 2013 Fall Meeting of Champions for American Quarter Horses begins Friday, September 13 and runs through Saturday, November 9.

The 26-day racing schedule will be conducted every Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and scheduled first race post time is 6:35 p.m. (CDT). Gates will open early on Saturday, November 2 at 10:30 a.m. (CDT) for simulcast of the Breeders’ Cup World Thoroughbred Championships.

Lone Star Park is hosting 15 stakes races over the 26-day meet worth an estimated total of $2.4 million, which will conclude with the $1 million, Grade 1, Texas Classic Futurity to be run on November 9, closing day.

Featured opening night is the 16th running of the $20,000-guaranteed Nevill Document Solutions Stakes for Accredited Texas-Bred three-year-olds & upward, going 350 yards.

Gary & Randal Kurz’s Jody Pops Zoomer, trained by Toby Keeton is the morning line favorite at 3-1. The three-year-old gelding by Zoomin for Bux, won his Dash for Cash Futurity Trial here last year and advanced to the final, but finished out of the money after a troubled start. He was however, compensated by a DQ and placed from sixth to fifth. Keeton won this race last year with First Klas Fred.

Jess a Comment, owned by Michael. S. Amburn and trained by Guy Hopkins makes his first appearance at the Grand Prairie track.  The gelding by First Comment has lifetime earnings of over $120k from four wins from 17 lifetime starts.

Last year’s Texas Classic Futurity winning trainer, Judd Kearl is sending out Ja Jess Perfect. The six-year-old horse by Mr Jess Perry, won the Live Oak Handicap Stakes at Retama Park his last out on August 9.

The field from the rail out, with jockey and morning line odds is: Executive Tone (Eleazar Rivera Hernandez, 10-1); The Field Cricket (Jerry Lee Yoakum, 12-1); Sparrow Contender (Raul Gutierrez, 4-1); Jody Pops Zoomer (Luis L. Vivanco, 3-1);

Chickie Kool (Carlos Salas Castro, 20-1); Plunge the Depths (Ricardo Aguire, 8-1); Ja Jess Perfect (Rodrigo Sigala Vallejo, 9-2); Trunk Monkey (Eddi Emmanuel Martinez, 20-1) and Jess a Comment (Luis Ramirez, 7-2).

Scheduled as race eight on the nine-race opening night program, The Nevill Document Solutions Stakes has an approximate post time of 9:23 p.m. (CDT).
