New 6:35 pm First Race Post Time on Saturdays Premieres  

Value Packages Offered with Close to 50% Savings

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX (Thursday, February 13, 2014)-- Reserved seating for Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie’s upcoming 2014 Spring Thoroughbred Season will go on sale Monday, February 17 at 8:30 a.m.

Customers can purchase seats by calling the reservation line at (972) 263-PONY (7669).

Reserved seating options range from $8 to $27 per person (includes admission), except on big event days, which have separate pricing plans.  Lone Star Park Savings Special packages offer close to 50%off the regular prices. 

Live Thoroughbred racing kicks off on Thursday,April 10 for the track’s 50-date meet. Opening Weekend is filled with celebrations and concerts by two top music acts: Josh Abbott Band on Friday, April 11, and Gary Allan on Saturday, April 12. 

New for the 2014 Spring Thoroughbred Season is twilight Saturday racing. Gates open at 5:00 pm with a first race post time of 6:35 p.m. on every Saturday, as opposed to a midday post time in years past

The exceptions will be the three Triple Crown dates of May 3 (Kentucky Derby,) May 17 (Preakness Stakes) and June 7 (Belmont Stakes) with a special 3:33 p.m. first race post time. 

Sunday racing, with a first race post time of 1:35 p.m., will be offered beginning Sunday, April 27 through June 15.

Also new for 2014 are two new themed promotional nights:

  • Thursday nights will feature live entertainment, drink specials and activities in the Courtyard of Champions beginning opening night, Thursday April 10.
  • Three Saturday nights will feature a new Lone Star After Dark promotion on May 10, 24 and 31. More details will follow at a later date.

On Memorial Day, May 26, a special Monday holiday racing program will feature a 1:35 p.m. first race post time.

All group suites have been completely remodeled and refurbished with new flat screen televisions, furniture and flooring.
