GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Friday, April 25, 2014)– Race fans, come meet Hall of Fame and three-time Kentucky Derby Winning Jockey Calvin Borel Saturday night, April 26 at Lone Star Park.
Calvin will be on hand to sign autographs for fans from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Prairie track. Bring your pictures or memorabilia to have signed or get an autographed card or t-shirt from this outstanding rider in our sport!
Inducted into the National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame in 2013, jockey Calvin Borel known as Bo-Rail to many for finding the shortest way around a racetrack, ships in to ride in Saturday’s Grade 3 $200,000 Texas Mile.
Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Texas Partners LSP and GG LSP. The track offers a 50-day 2014 Spring Thoroughbred Season, which opens Thursday, April 10 and concludes on Saturday, July 12. Live racing will be held three days a week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 6:35 p.m. (except Thursday, May 29 when there will be no live racing), and Sundays at 1:35 p.m. (beginning April 27 through June 15.) The racing program on Memorial Day, May 26, will start at 1:35 p.m. A Special twilight program will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 (Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration). Special post times for three Triple Crown dates will begin at 3:33 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, May 17 and June 7 (Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes.) Lone Star Park is also home to the multi-million dollar simulcast racebook, sports bar and event venue, Bar & Book. The 36,000 square foot venue is open to the public 363 days a year.
