2015 LONE STAR MUSIC SERIES TO FEATURE SEVEN CONCERTS DURING THE SPRING THOROUGHBRED SEASON

 Eli Young Band and Chris Young Kick-Off Opening Weekend April 10-11

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie’s upcoming Spring Thoroughbred Racing Season kicks off on Thursday, April 9 and each year, the Lone Star Music Series draws top bands from around the country. This year’s line-up will offer those chart-topping fan favorites and a new comer to the track. The popular Lone Star Music Series drew over 116,000 fans in 2014 in a combined 8-concert series.

The excitement which surrounds the 2015 Spring Thoroughbred Season Opening Weekend will be underlined with two top music acts:

  • Friday, April 10 – Eli Young Band returns for his fifth Lone Star Park appearance. He last performed here in 2012, drawing the largest crowd since the Music Series began in 2000.
  • Saturday, April 11 - Nashville artist Chris Young will return for his second appearance since debuting last year at the Grand Prairie track.

The music calendar for the remainder of the Lone Star Music Series includes:

  • Friday, May 8 – Texas Country/Red Dirt artist Stoney LaRue
  • Friday, June 19 - Texas Country musician Josh Abbott Band
  • Saturday, June 20 - Nashville MCA recording artist Gary Allan
  • Friday, July 17- American country singer and songwriter Chase Rice
  • Saturday, July 18- American Texas Country artist Pat Green

“This will be our seventh consecutive Lone Star Music Series season and they have been hugely popular,” said Kim Bordano, Director of Marketing and Sales. “Our goal is to ensure music fans from all over the Metroplex will continue to enjoy our line-up of crowd-pleasing acts and new talent at an unbeatable ticket price.”

All concerts are free with paid $5 general admission before 8:00 p.m. and $20 after 8:00 p.m.  Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with a first race post time of 6:35 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights. Concerts begin after the last live race.

Once again, Lone Star Park will enforce an 18 years of age and older policy for all concerts. Persons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Texas Partners LSP and GG LSP.
