GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Friday, April 24, 2015) – Cancellation of the races for the third time in a single race meet is unheard of, yet it has happened at Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie. Just three weeks into the 2015 Spring Thoroughbred Season at the Grand Prairie track, heavy rain and thunderstorms moved through the Metroplex causing the cancellation of races for the third time.

Only the first race on tonight’s card was able to get off and running before the major storms hit. Races 2 through 9 will be re-scheduled throughout the remainder of the meeting. The $200,000 Grade 3, Texas Mile, which was scheduled as the eighth race, has been rescheduled for next Friday, May 1.

The early $2 double paid out a consolation on 7-all of $4.00, and the .50¢ pick three paid out a consolation on 1-6-7-9/all/all of .80¢ All other wagers were fully refunded.
