Friday, May 15

Live Thoroughbred Racing: Nine live races scheduled. Gates open at 5:00 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m. $5 General Admission. Free General Parking.  

• Party at the Park: Enjoy live music and $2 beer specials tonight in our Courtyard of Champions! TOP will be performing between live races from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

• Preakness Advance Wagering: Advance wagering on the Preakness Stakes and the entire Pimlico Saturday card is available today. Approximate post time for the Black Eyed Susan Stakes simulcast live from Pimlico is approximately 3:50 p.m. (CT).

Saturday, May 16

• Live Thoroughbred Racing: 11 live races scheduled. Grandstand Gates open at 11:30 a.m. First race post time is 1:35 p.m. $5 General Admission. Free General Parking.

• Preakness Stakes: The 140th running of the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes will be contested today live via simulcast from Pimlico. Kentucky Derby winner American Pharaoh is seeking the second jewel of the Triple Crown of racing. He will be breaking from post position number one and has been assigned favoritism with morning line odds of 4-5. His Stablemate Dortmund will break from post position number two and has been assigned odds of 7-2. Kentucky Derby runner up, Firing Line will break from the outside, in post position eight. Firing Line was made 4-1 on the morning line. Post time for the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes live via simulcast is 5:18 p.m. (CT).

• Live Music in the Courtyard: Motion will be performing on our Courtyard of Champions Stage between live races from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• Family Fun Day: In addition to a great day of racing, The Family Fun Park will be open from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. There will be plenty of fun activities for the entire family that include bounce houses, pony rides and a petting zoo.

Sunday, May 17

• Lone Star Bark Bring Your Dog to the Races: Lone Star Park is calling all dogs for our 1st Annual Lone Star Bark event on Sunday, May 17.  Bring your furry friend(s) out to the park to enjoy live racing, $1 hot dogs, dog races and more! Each dog in attendance will receive a free “Lone Star Bark” bandana and each dog owner will receive a free plastic fire hydrant container with disposal bags inside.

• Lone Star Bark Dog Races: Do you think your dog is the fastest dog around?  Come show off their speed in our 1st Annual Lone Star Bark Dog Races. Top Dog Prizes - 1st Place - $200 and 2nd Place - $100. Prize amounts to be awarded per race. All entries will be assigned to a race on a first come, first serve basis.

Here are a few important details to help keep your pet(s) safe and fully enjoy your day at the park: All dogs must be on a leash at all times when on property. All dogs must remain outside at all times. No dogs will be allowed in the Grandstand building or Bar & Book facility. Owners are required to clean up their dogs accidents (i.e. plastic waste bags). A potty station and water station will be provided in a designated area. If your dog attacks another animal or human, you will be asked to leave immediately. No refunds will be provided.

Sunday Brunch Buffet in Silks: Enjoy our new Sunday Brunch Buffet in our Silks Dining Room each Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until the end of the sixth race. Try our new Bloody Mary Bar and Mimosa Bar. Advance reservations can be made by calling 972-263-7223.

Senior Citizens' Day: Seniors 62 years or older will receive one (1) FREE General Admission at our Admission Gates every Sunday during the 2015 Spring Thoroughbred Season. Just present your valid identification at the designated areas at our entrances to receive your coupon.

Military Discount Day: Present your Military ID any Sunday during the 2015 Spring Thoroughbred Season and receive one (1) FREE General Admission at our Admission gates. Just present your valid identification at the designated areas at our entrances to receive your coupon.

Around the Track: Friday begins week six of our Spring Thoroughbred Racing Season, and the McMahon/Broberg team are still way out in front in the standings. Jockey CJ McMahon has a huge lead with 30 wins over Lindey Wade’s 16 wins. Gerardo Mora is in third place with 13 wins. Trainer Karl Broberg is looking for his second training title at the Grand Prairie track, and he is on a great pace to do it again this year. He has been to the winners circle 25 times so far this meet, 10 times more than Bret Calhoun who has won 15 races. Lone Star Park’s All-time leader Steve Asmussen is a close third with 13 wins. Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Texas Partners LSP and GG LSP.
