GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Join us Monday, May 25 for the Memorial Day Celebration at Lone Star Park. It’s a very special day for everyone to celebrate and thank each and every American that has served our country. They are all our heroes! And Lone Star Park plans to celebrate in a big way. Not only with exciting live racing, but with something fun for everyone to enjoy! Gates open at 11:30 a.m. First live race is at 1:35 p.m.

MEMORIAL DAY FESTIVITIES INCLUDE:

JOCKEYS AND JAVA

The fun begins early on Monday with Jockeys & Java. Have you ever wanted to know what goes on in the stable area at the track? Now is your chance to come and see for yourself. Come enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast and watch the horses work out on the track during their morning training. Track Announcer John Lies will interview leading jockey CJ McMahon followed with a short Q & A period. Afterward fans can take an in-depth tour of the stable area. For those interested, please enter through the Courtyard of Champion gates located on the West side of the Grandstand. Gates for this special event open at 8:30 a.m. Interviews will start at approximately 9:00 a.m. Covered seating is available. Bus tours of the stable area will begin shortly after the track closes for morning training at 10:00 a.m.

OPENING CEREMONIES

Opening Ceremonies lead by the 301st Fighter Wing Honor Guard will begin at approximately 1:05 p.m.  

LIVE THOROUGHBRED RACING

10 live races are scheduled featuring the 19th running of the $200,000 guaranteed, Grade III Lone Star Park Handicap, the second leg of the Global Gaming Triple. The race is for three-year-olds and upward going a mile and a sixteenth on the main track. Approximate post time for the Handicap, race nine on the 10-race card is 5:19 p.m.

MEET AND GREET JOCKEY AUTOGRAPH SESSION

Come meet and talk with your favorite Lone Star Park jockey! They will be signing autographed photos and visiting with race fans from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. inside the East Grandstand Entrance. A $5 donation is optional, but welcomed. All proceeds benefit the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund (PDJF).  

FREE ADMISSION FOR MILITARY PERSONEL

In honor of our veterans we are offering (1) FREE General Admission at our Admission Gates to all Military personnel. Just present your present your Military ID at the designated areas at our entrances to receive your coupon.

LIVE MUSIC

Enjoy live music by Incognito on our Courtyard of Champions Stage from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m.

DISCOUNTED PRICES

The whole family can take advantage of our discounted prices. Soft drinks, hot dogs and popcorn will be just $1 each, all day long. Plus, grab an ice-cold beer for just $2 each! *Discounted items will be offered at concession stands on the first and second levels of the Grandstand and Courtyard of Champions only.

Kids of all ages can enjoy our expanded Family Fun Park from noon to 4:00 p.m. with pony rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, face painters, tattoo artists, games and more!

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Texas Partners LSP and GG LSP.
