TEAM KEETON DOMINATES THE CARD ON NIGHT 1 OF THE BANK OF AMERICA CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Friday, November 6, 2015) – The Keeton Stable certainly had a fabulous night Friday with four trips to the winners circle on the first night of the two-night Bank of America Challenge Championships being held at Lone Star Park.

The first win of the night for Trainer Cindi Keeton was Race 3 on the 10-race program, a maiden claiming at 300 yards when Man for Man crossed the finish line first in 15.486 seconds, a length and a half in front of the rest. The other three wins for team Keeton were all stakes victories, Races 6, 7 and 8, were all part of the undercard stakes held Friday as part of the AQHA Bank of America Racing Challenge.

 

Q RACING VIDEO DISTANCE STAKES  

Ec Cartel chased then rolled on by favorite Jessa Little Rusty to win the 870 yard event by 1 ¼ lengths. Final time was 45.242. The 6-year-old gelding by Tinys First Corona returned $17.80. He is trained by Steven Kearl for owner Alejandra Carrion. G. R. Carter, Jr. was the winning rider.

 

Q RACING JOURNAL STAKES 

David R. Robinson’s 5-year-old mare Melovemetwo ($11.80) was first at the wire. With G. R. Carter, Jr. in the irons, she completed the 440 yard distance in 21.620 seconds over a fast track. Speed index awarded was 90. Rocket and Roll was second by a neck and it was another neck back to Charvet in third. Sophies Special, Play Harder, Eyesa Rowdy Shazoom, Ncc Anchorman, Im the Key and I Bleed Red completed the order of finish. This was the 11th career victory and first stakes victory for Melovemetwo from 24 starts. Her total recorded earnings are now $84,909.   

 

AQHA MEMBER PLUS STAKES 

Bobby G. and Mike Briscoe’s favorite Kiss the Tears Away ($4.00) another team Keeton victory, totally dominated in the AQHA Member Plus Stakes. The 4-year-old daughter of Furyofthewind defeated Mary Me Anna by 1 ¼ lengths in the 400 yard contest. Final time was :19.755.  

JOHN DEERE STAKES 

Cindi Keeton was back in the winner’s circle with another she trains for Bobby G. and Mike Briscoe. Adashinrose ($19.60) ridden by Oscar Hernandez, took the lead position and gamely held on to win by a head over Wild Sixes Cartel. The 400 yard match was completed in 19.727 seconds.  

 

MARKEL STAKES 

Longshot’s Ima Dashing Gator ($23.20) and Pure D Rocket run one two in the final stake event of the night. Favorite Perrys Leaving You weakened, finishing seventh making way for the lucrative payouts in the Merkel. Winning time for the 350 yards was :17.585 seconds. A $2 exacta returned $421.80, for those who wagered a .50¢ Trifecta returned $1,257.15. Ca-ching! Ima Dashing Gator is owned by Bobby D. Cox and trained by John Buchanan. Russel Hadley was the winning rider.
