GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Sunday, July 10, 2016) – Maybe it’s something in the water, or perhaps the stars are aligned in some mysterious multiple win pattern. Whatever it is you won’t hear any complaints from the latest to be sprinkled with the magic win dust. Jockey Iram Diego rode the wave today winning five of the nine races carded. Four of the five were trained by Lone Star Park’s all-time leader, Steve Asmussen.

The trainer/jockey duo of Asmussen/Diego was off to a great start, winning the early pick three (Races 1, 2 & 3). They again teamed up in Race 6 for victory number four. Diego rode his fifth winner in Race 7 for trainer J. R. Caldwell.

It was a multiple win night on Saturday, July 9 for Jockeys Luis Quinonez and C. J. McMahon each riding four winners, and trainer Bret Calhoun with four winners of the nine carded races.
