GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, October 8, 2016) – After just winning the Juvenile Stakes in the previous race, trainer Brian Stroud was thrilled when his charge, Tellereyematthebar got up to win the 19th Grade 3 $235,600 Dash for Cash Derby giving him a training double.

Owned by James Ray Hrabovsky & Joye Leann Nalls, Tellereyematthebar, on the far outside just kept on coming, determined to reach the wire first which he did by a head over favorite Politically Corrupt. Final time for the 440 yard contest was 21.658 over a fast track. Speed index awarded for the effort was 90.

After being fractious in the gate, Politically Corrupt stumbled at the start and bumped with Shez a Hot Valentine on his outside opening the door for jockey Cesar Gomez to take advantage and get the victory. It was very rewarding for those that had mutuels on Tellereyematthebar. At 19.70-1, he returned $41.40, $9.80 and $5.00. Politically Corrupt paid $4.00 and $3.40. Show went to Kid Can Dash and returned $9.80. Tlc Dale broke in at the start then drifted out late to finish fourth. Especial Cartel, Shez a Hot Valentine, My Moment of Fame, Octonaut, Woop Dee Do and Patriot Pearl completed the order.

Tellereyematthebar is a gelded son of Teller Cartel. He is now 4-2-1 from 9 lifetime starts with total earnings of $111,355.


Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Texas Partners LSP and GG LSP.
