GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Sunday, June 11, 2017) – For those of you who thought this date would never get here, it’s only days away. The 2017 Lone Star Music Series will kick off on Friday, June 16 with a performance by Josh Abbott Band. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. First race post time is 6:35 p.m. The concert will begin immediately following the last live race.

The Texas Country band from Lubbock, Texas, Josh Abbott Band has produced two top 10 albums, including “Small Town Family Dream” and “Front Row Seat.” Charting singles include “Hangin’ Around,” “Amnesia” and “Wasn’t That Drunk”.

Ticket options are as follows:

Day of Event General Admission*: $5 before 7:30 p.m.; $20 thereafter
Includes admittance to live racing and access to post-race concert. $5 General Admission available to purchase on-site only, on the day of the event.

Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie, a Class I racetrack operated by Texas Partners LSP and GG LSP. The track offers a 50-day 2017 Thoroughbred Season, which opens Thursday, April 20 and concludes on Sunday, July 30.  Live racing will be held three days a week, Friday at 6:35 p.m., Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (except Triple Crown Days May 6, May 20 & June 10 which have a 1:35 p.m. start) and Sundays at 2:35 p.m. Live racing will be held on select Thursdays at 6:35 p.m. (April 20, June 15 & July 27). The racing program on Memorial Day, May 29, will start at 2:35 p.m. A special twilight program will be held at 5:00 p.m. both on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4 (Lone Stars & Stripes Fireworks Celebration).
