BOTH LONE STAR PARK REGIONAL CHALLENGE WINNERS WIN BIG IN CHALLENGE CHAMPIONSHIPS TONIGHT AT PRAIRIE MEADOWS

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Friday, October 14, 2017) – Zoomin Racer and Jess Paint Your Lips were crowned Champions of their divisions tonight at the 2017 Bank of America Challenge Championships at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa.

Zooming Racer won the regional AQHA Distance Challenge here on September 29, and with it an automatic entry into the $105,000, AQHA Distance Challenge Championship. Local leading rider Ricky Ramirez made the trek to Iowa to again ride Zoomin Racer for owner/trainer Fernando Carrete scoring the victory in the 870-yard contest. The winning time was 45.318 seconds over a sloppy (sealed) racetrack.

Jess Read My Lips won the Merial Distaff Challenge here, also on September 29, earning a spot in the $105,000 Distaff Challenge Championship. She was reunited with her regular rider, Jorge Torres for Saturday’s win. The pair finished the 400 yards in 19.469 seconds for a speed index of 101. The 4-yr-old-filly by Jess Louisiana Blue is owned by Michael Pohl and trained by Stacy Hill.

The track offers a 26-day 2017 Fall Meeting of Champions Season, which opens Friday, September 15 and concludes on Saturday, November 11.
