GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Saturday, November 4, 2017) – Bennie and Terri Jeter’s Rc Me Leaving You became the first horse to score multiple wins in the Restricted Grade 3, $25,000 B. F. Phillips, Jr. Stakes since its inaugural running in 1997.

Trained by Jimmy Padgett and ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo, the bay 5-yr-old son of Corona’s Leaving You stumbled slightly at the start, but quickly got himself gathered up and was all business. He gained the lead at the halfway point, finishing by a neck over runner up Dm La Jolla. It was another ½ length to Kid Can Dash in third and a head to Big Tex who completed the Superfecta.

Final time for the 400-yard contest was 19.796 over a fast track with an 8 mph headwind. Speed index was 94.

Rc Me Leaving You paid $4.40, $3.00, $2.20. Dm La Jolla paid $6.40, $3.20 and Kid Can Dash paid $4.60. Big Tex, Tellereyematthebar, This Is a Deal, Apollitical Wave and Kw Cowboy finished in that order.

With the $14,750 winner’s share of the purse, Rc Me Leaving You’s career earnings now total $188,212 and his record is 24-7-5-7. He was a perfect two-for-two last year at Lone Star Park winning the both the Nevill Document Solutions Stakes and the B. F. Phillips, Jr. Stakes. This year was an exact repeat for this horse who loves this track. He has finished 100% in the money in all of his races here at the Grand Prairie track. His record here is 9-5-2-2, and $121,230 of his winnings was earned here.
