Oh Say Can You Sing?
It is time to warm up your vocal chords!
Lone Star Park National Anthem auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Auditions will be held outdoors (weather permitting) just west of the Winner’s Circle. Enter through Parking Gate 5 off Lone Star Parkway and park in the Preferred Parking Lot. Enter through the East Entrance of the Grandstand.
Anyone interested in singing the National Anthem for Lone Star Park must audition, in person on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Call (972) 263-RACE (7223) prior to audition day to set up an appointment. Walk-ups are welcome; however, those with an appointment will be given priority on audition time. Lyrics must be memorized, and you will be asked to audition a cappella. Vocalists, instrumentalists, duos, trios, groups and choirs are welcome to audition. Your performance time must be two minutes or less. Also, as a reminder, expect to hear a half second delay in the sound system during your performance.
Each person selected to perform will receive four (4) reserved seats and one (1) valet parking pass for live racing on the performance date.
Performers Must Adhere to the Following Guidelines:
- Song must be sung a cappella or performed on an acoustic instrument
- Song must be completed in two minutes or less (over 2 min = DQ)
- Singers may not hold their ears to help with delay (i.e., finger in ear = DQ)
- Singers must have words memorized (using paper/cheat sheet = DQ)
