UPDATE May 21, 2020:

The health and safety of our patrons is our number one priority. We continue to monitor closely Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines and public health advancements, and we have implemented operational procedures and protocols that you need to know before you make your next trip to Bar & Book at Lone Star Park.

Temperature Screenings and Face Coverings. All patrons and employees entering Lone Star Park and Bar & Book will be checked for temperature. Individuals with a temperature at or over 100.4°F (38°C) will not be allowed to enter Lone Star Park or Bar & Book. Employees are required to wear protective coverings over their nose and mouth at all times. Patrons are highly encouraged to wear protective coverings over their nose and mouth at all times or when not eating or drinking.

Racing Operations. At this time, the 2020 Thoroughbred Season is being conducted with no spectators. Only individuals who are considered essential personnel are allowed in the Grandstand. The Grandstand is closed to the public.

Simulcast Operations. Bar & Book occupancy will be limited to 25% of capacity. We will not be accepting any reservations until further notice. All Bar & Book seating is first-come, first-served.

Enhanced Cleaning and Disinfecting Protocols. Enhanced cleaning procedures will be followed, including the use of electrostatic sprayers and EPA-certified chemicals during daily closures as well as more frequent manual disinfection processes with EPA-registered disinfectant on high-touch surfaces like door handles, railings, elevator buttons, ATMs, self-serve wagering machines and other hard surfaces. The number of hand sanitizer dispensers has been increased and will be placed at guest and employee entrances and exits as well as high-contact areas.

Reservations. New reservations have been suspended until further notice. All existing reservations through May have been refunded. June reservations will be refunded automatically. Reservations for Kentucky Derby Day have been moved to September 5, the rescheduled date for the 2020 Kentucky Derby. All Bar & Book seating is first-come, first-served.

Physical Distancing. Guests are advised to practice physical distancing leaving six feet between themselves and people not traveling with them while standing in lines, using elevators or moving around the property. Restaurant tables and other layouts will be arranged to ensure appropriate distancing. Bar chairs have been rearranged and seating has been removed from some tables to create additional distance between individuals.

Dining at Bar & Book. Operations for dining have been modified to allow for additional cleaning and physical distancing. Our menu items are limited, and single-use menus will be used.

Frequently Asked Questions

Any areas of the property that are not open?
The Grandstand will not be open to the public. Only individuals who are considered essential personnel are allowed entry to the Grandstand. Bar & Book is open to the public at 25% capacity.

What happens when maximum occupancy is reached?
If maximum capacity is reached, patrons will be asked to wait in clearly marked queue lines that have been set up at the entrance and spaced six feet apart to allow for physical distancing as patrons wait to enter the facility. As other individuals leave the facility, individuals in line will be able to enter the building. Individuals who exit the facility will be required to enter the queue lines for re-entry into Bar & Book at Lone Star Park.

What promotions will be available when you reopen?
At this time, promotions and events have all been cancelled. We will resume promotions and events when it is determined to be a responsible operational process as well as provides equitable opportunity for all patrons to participate. We will provide updates via website, social channels, mail and email, where applicable, as more information regarding promotions becomes available.

I have a voucher/winning ticket to cash-out. How long do I have to redeem it upon reopening?
Tickets may be cashed by mail or in-person and are valid for one year from the date printed. To cash by mail; please print clearly and send your ticket with name and address to:

Will cash checking service be available at Bar & Book?

Yes, you will be able to use your Star Player Rewards Card.

What happened to my Star Player Rewards Card during this closure?
Your Star Player Rewards Card remained active. All earned points have remained in your account.
