LONE STAR PARK RACING CLUB MEMBERS ELATED AS PEEJ GIVES THE CLUB ITS SECOND WIN

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (June 21, 2018) – The Lone Star Park Racing Club is now a perfect two-for-two as their horse Peej wins the first on tonight’s card.

The Racing Club’s first winner, Lodi Street who won on June 2, was claimed away from them in that race. The club’s trainer, J. R. Caldwell claimed Peej earlier on the card the same day they lost Lodi Street.

Peej’s win tonight was a starter allowance at a mile and one eighth on the turf, a distance he had not won in three previous attempts. Two late scratches left only five in the field. With winning jockey Lane Luzzi aboard, Peej rated just off the pace. Luzzi urged him along on the far turn, chasing into upper stretch, made a bid at that point, battled with two foes in the final sixteenth, fought with runner-up, Special Praise under hand urging late to narrowly prevail. Favorite Avanzare was able to hold on for show. Peej returned $6.00, $3.40 and 2.10. Final time was 1:47.87 on a firm turf course.

For the Lone Star Park Racing Club members, luck has certainly been on their side. The Club claimed its third horse from the fifth race last Saturday, Fred’s Lucky Boy. Also a turf specialist, Fred will be racing in the club’s colors soon. They’ll be looking for win number three!
