Penny Rounding

Penny Rounding at Lone Star Park

The U.S. Mint has officially stopped producing new pennies. This has created a national Penny shortage as the penny gets phased out of circulation. All non-cash transactions (debit, credit and digital payments) will not be affected and will continue to be totaled to the exact cent. All cash transactions will be impacted as follows:

Non-Wagering Locations – Final Cash totals are now rounded to the nearest Nickel, in favor of our guests.

Example: The items being purchased total $19.97, you hand the cashier a $20 Bill. Historically, your change would be $.03. Now, your change will be $0.05 (rounded to the nearest Nickel in your favor).

Wagering Locations – A Voucher will be provided for any amounts less than a Nickel. Vouchers are valid for 365 Days after being issued.

Example: Your Winning Ticket is valued at $5.07; your Teller will provide you with $5.05 in cash and a Voucher worth the remaining $.02.
