IMA DISCREET LADY TAKES THE $50,000 BLUEBONNET STAKES

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Thursday, April 18, 2019) – Raymond Todd White & Duane Coker’s Ima Discreet Lady wins the $50,000 Bluebonnet Stakes on Opening Night of Lone Star Park’s 2019 Thoroughbred Racing Season.

The victory was the fourth of the night for trainer Karl Broberg and jockey C. J. McMahon. McMahon last rode here in 2016. That year he and Broberg teamed up with each finishing at the top of the standings. It looks like they’re off to a great start towards a repeat.

The winner, fresh off her win in the Bara Lass at Sam Houston last month, broke well contesting the early pace inside of rival Dark Desert Wine then claiming the lead just past the half mile marker and just keeping a head in front for the remainder of the race. Favorite Shes Our Fastest showed speed in the final furlong getting up for the place 2 ¼ lengths behind the winner.

Final time for the 6 ½ furlong race for Texas-bred fillies & mares, 3 & up. Fractional times were 23.81; 47.36 and 1:11.92 for a final of 1:18.42. The track was listed as good.

Ima Discreet Cat, a 3-yr-old daughter of Discreet Cat earned $30,000 boosting her career earnings total to $120,303. It was her 4th win from 10 starts.

Mutuels for the winner were $9.40, $3.60 & $2.80. Shes Our Fastest paid $2.20 & $2.20 to place and True Confession paid $8.40 to show. Zarelda was fourth followed by Sing Prada Sing, Dark Desert Wine, Witt’s Town and Sexy Dance.
