The Steve Sexton Mile
The Grade 3, $200,000 Steve Sexton Mile is set to run on Sunday, May 6, 2018. This will mark the 22nd running of the race, previously run as the Texas Mile. The race name was changed in 2017 to honor the memory of Steve Sexton, Lone Star Park’s former Vice-President & General Manager and to raise awareness for the Steven P. Sexton Foundation.
“The Sexton Family is honored to recognize our amazing dad, husband and best friend with Texas’ greatest horse race,” said Taylor Sexton. “The Steve Sexton Mile was an incredible event in 2017, and we are confident that the Lone Star Park team will build off of that performance.”
Advance wagering will be offered on Saturday, May 5 for the Steve Sexton Mile and the entire Sunday, May 6 race card.
The Late Pick-4 will be guaranteed at $50,000.
