LONE STAR PARK AT GRAND PRAIRIE
10th ranked major league sports entertainment attraction (based upon annual attendance) located in the heart of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Over 800,000 customers annually visit the facility for live horse racing, simulcast horse racing wagering 363 days of the year and for year-round events ranging from ride and drives, concerts, meetings and weddings. Lone Star Park is located on Belt Line Road, just ½ mile north of I-30, nestled on approximately 315 acres midway between Dallas and Fort Worth in Grand Prairie, Texas.
The centerpiece of the facility is a 280,000 square foot, 7-level glass-enclosed, climate-controlled Grandstand with a seating capacity of approximately 6,000. Creating its own distinct character of spirit, smart and elegant in appearance, Lone Star Park finds its identity in the roots of the southwest. The newest Texas racecourse turns to native materials indigenous to the region, the details of Indian building skills, and Spanish baroque forms to produce a uniquely American style. This distinct character and spirit of the place, whether you are a spectator, jockey, trainer or even an owner, will always be with you.
The 280,000 square foot Grandstand features seven, glass enclosed, climate controlled levels. The entrances to the Grandstand, on the main track level, overlook the beautiful Eurpoean-style H. Wayne Hanks Saddling Paddock. This is where customers are free to get an up-close look at our world-class race horses before they step onto the track. The main track level also includes general admission areas and our Dash for Cash event room, located just past the finish line. Terrace Seating Level Two features reserved box seats, counter seats, and our Alysheba Room for corporate groups and events. The Fourth Level is home to our 1,200 seat Silks Dining Room, Paddock Lounge, and the exclusive members only Jockey Club Lounge. The Fifth and Sixth levels feature 48 luxurious Penthouse Suites that can accommodate groups from 20 to 50 people during live racing. The Seventh level of the Grandstand features our Hall of Fame Suite with spectacular views, not only of the racetrack but the surrounding area and can accommodate 150-200 guests. The press box is also located on the Seventh level and contains the offices of key race day personnel such as the Stewards from the Texas Racing Commission, Racing Officials, the Track Announcer and Equibase, in addition to a common area for working media.
The Grandstand features themed concession areas, bars, racing information areas, a Daktronics infield board, a Courtyard of Champions and Veranda and over 1,500 televisions located throughout the facility.
The barn area consists of 32 barns with accommodations for up to 1,600 horses. It also includes a receiving building, hold & test barn, maintenance barn and administrative building.
The racetrack consists of a one-mile dirt oval with seven-furlong and 550-yard chutes, 90-feet wide with six degree banking on the turns. The distance from the final turn to the finish line is 930 feet. A 7/8-mile oval turf course also exists with a 1-1/8-mile inside chute, 90-feet wide with six degree banking on turns.
Lone Star Park offers a lively entertainment and promotion schedule that offers customers a reason to attend the horse races.
The annual Lone Stars and Stripes Fireworks Celebration is one of the most popular and highest-attended events of the year in conjunction with the City of Grand Prairie. Held on July 3rd & 4th following live racing, the focal point is a world-class fireworks spectacular.
